Acceptable Use Policy

About this policy

This policy sets out what you may not do on SkyScribe. It covers everything you write, publish or upload through the app at skyscribe.app, everything shown on sites hosted at <name>.skyscribe.site, and how you use the Service itself. It forms part of our Terms of Service. SkyScribe is provided by Perpetual Summer Ltd.

Content that isn’t allowed

You must not publish, upload, host or link to content that:

• sexually exploits or endangers children, in any form. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. We remove it, close the account, and report it to the relevant authorities;
• is illegal where you are, or in the UK, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
• promotes terrorism or violent extremism, or glorifies, incites or threatens violence;
• harasses, bullies, threatens or abuses anyone, or attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic;
• shares intimate images of someone without their consent;
• is sexually explicit or pornographic;
• shares someone’s private information (such as their home address, contact details, financial or health information) without their consent;
• infringes someone else’s rights, including copyright, trade marks and privacy;
• deceives people: scams, fraud, phishing, fake giveaways, or impersonating a person, company or organisation in a way that misleads;
• contains or links to malware, or anything designed to harm devices or steal data;
• encourages self-harm, suicide or eating disorders (writing about these topics responsibly, for example to support recovery, is fine);
• is spam, such as mass-produced pages or link farms created to manipulate search engines.

Using the Service

You must not:

• try to get into accounts, sites or data that aren’t yours, or probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our permission (if you find a security issue, please report it to us);
• disrupt the Service or put an unreasonable load on it, including by automated scraping or bulk requests;
• get around limits or restrictions, such as the free tier’s limits or a suspension, including by using several accounts;
• use the Image Library as general file storage, or to serve files to websites other than your SkyScribe sites;
• use collaboration invitations to send unwanted messages to people;
• resell, sublicense or rebrand the Service without our written agreement;
• help or encourage anyone else to do any of the above.

How we enforce this policy

Uploaded images are automatically scanned for known child sexual abuse material (see the Privacy Policy). We also act on reports and on anything we find ourselves.

If content or activity breaks this policy, we may do one or more of the following: remove the content, pause a hosted site, reclaim a subdomain, limit features, or suspend or close the account. Where the law requires it, or where someone may be at risk, we report it to the police or other authorities. For less serious breaches we’ll usually contact you first and give you a chance to fix things. For serious breaches we may act immediately and without notice.

If you think we’ve made a mistake, email us and we’ll look again.

Reporting content

To report a SkyScribe site or content that you think breaks this policy, email hello@skyscribe.app with the address of the page and what’s wrong with it. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first.

Content written on Bluesky itself is also subject to Bluesky’s own rules and moderation.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service and the law change. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and let you know about significant changes.
