Authoring
Authoring
Authoring is everything you do in the SkyScribe app to write and organise content: creating Publications, writing Documents, sorting them into Categories, managing images, and working with other people.
None of it depends on how the content is eventually displayed. Whether a Publication ends up powering a hosted SkyScribe Site or a site someone builds with the SDK — or both, or neither — the authoring workflow is identical, because the content is just standard records in your Bluesky account.
The shape of it
Publication a blog / magazine — one per body of content
├── Category an ordered section within it
│ └── Document one piece of writing, in exactly one Category
└── Config title, description, domain, images, discovery, …
A Document starts as a Draft (yours alone) and becomes Published when you place it in a Category within a Publication. See Core concepts for the full model.
This section
| Page | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Publications | Creating one, the Manage and Config tabs, deleting one |
| Writing Documents | The editor — fields, the rich text body, saving |
| Categories | Adding, renaming, reordering, deleting sections |
| Publishing | Draft ↔ Published, the Publish dialog, unpublishing |
| The Image Library | Uploading, the generated sizes, using images in Documents |
| Collaborators & Contributors | Inviting submitters; crediting people on a Document |
| Sharing & notifications | Cross-posting to Bluesky; notifying subscribers |
What you need
A Bluesky account — that's your sign-in and your storage. Some actions ask SkyScribe for extra permission on your account the first time you use them (for example, the first time you create a Publication or publish a Document); you approve that on Bluesky's own screen, and if the set of permissions grows in a later release you'll be asked to sign in again once.
