SkyScribe Sites
Subscribing
Hosting a SkyScribe Site needs an active PRO subscription. There's one paid product — you're either on FREE or on PRO — and PRO scales by how many sites you want to host.
FREE vs PRO
| FREE | PRO | |
|---|---|---|
| Write Documents, create Publications and Categories | ✓ | ✓ |
| Show your content on an SDK-driven website (built by a developer with the SkyScribe SDK) | ✓ | ✓ |
| Try the design wizard | ✓ (trial) | ✓ |
| Save Design Configs | Up to 3 | Unlimited |
Host a skyscribe.site website | — | ✓ |
| Image Library | — | ✓ |
Everything an author does with content is free forever. A FREE account can save up to 3 designs on the Site Designs page — PRO removes that limit entirely, and adds hosted sites and image uploads.
Choosing how many sites
Open Subscription from the side menu to see the comparison, then continue to Subscribe. There you pick how many sites you want to host (you can add more later), and you're shown the monthly price and the total image storage that comes with it before you confirm.
SUBSCRIBE NOW takes you to a secure Stripe checkout. Once payment completes, you have an active subscription with one Site Slot per site you paid for.
Site Slots
A Site Slot is one unit of hosting capacity: one Slot lets you run one live site (one Design Config connected to one Publication). Your subscription starts with one Slot per site you subscribed for. On the Subscription page each one is a card under Your SkyScribe Sites, and Add a SkyScribe Site adds another.
Image quota
Image Library storage is pooled across your whole subscription, not per-site:
- 1 Site Slot → 250 MB
- 2 Slots → 1 GB (250 MB × 2, plus a one-time 500 MB bonus for reaching 2)
- 3 Slots → 1.25 GB, 4 → 1.5 GB, and so on (250 MB per Slot after the bonus)
The Plan card at the top of the Subscription page shows how much of it you've used.
Payment and invoices
Payment & invoices, on the Plan card, opens Stripe's secure billing page for your account: update your payment method, download invoices, and change your billing details (name, address, tax ID, and the email receipts go to). It's there even after a subscription has ended, so you can still get old invoices. Cancelling and changing how many sites you pay for are on the Subscription page itself (below).
Changing or cancelling your subscription
Everything below happens on the Subscription page and your sites' pages. One rule runs through it: what you've paid for, you keep until the end of the period. Nothing is refunded or credited for the rest of a period, and nothing stops early.
Removing a SkyScribe Site
Remove, in the Danger Zone of a site's page, takes that Site Slot away at the end of the current period. Until then the site stays live, is marked Removing on that date, and Undo puts it back. From your next renewal you pay for one fewer SkyScribe Site.
Your only SkyScribe Site can't be removed this way: to stop it, cancel your subscription.
A removed site's subdomain stays reserved for you for 12 months (listed under Reserved for you). Nobody else can take it, and you can launch another site on it: your reserved subdomains are offered when you launch.
Cancelling
Cancel subscription, at the bottom of the page, asks once to confirm. Your SkyScribe Sites and PRO features carry on until the end of the period, and Resume subscription undoes the cancellation any time before then. While a subscription is cancelling, you can't add or remove SkyScribe Sites; resume it first.
You can also cancel or change your subscription from your Link account, since Link processes SkyScribe's payments. The app picks up changes made there.
When a subscription ends
Your SkyScribe Sites are paused: visitors see a notice instead of the site. For 12 months we keep their subdomains reserved for you and keep serving your uploaded images, so your articles still show them. Your designs and your Publications aren't affected.
Resubscribe within those 12 months and your sites come back as they were. You choose how many SkyScribe Sites to pay for, starting from how many you had, and which of your old ones to bring back. Any you leave out are removed, with their subdomains reserved for the rest of the 12 months.
After 12 months the subdomains are released and the images deleted. Resubscribing then starts with empty Site Slots, like a first subscription.
