Content

Publication — A container for a body of related content: one blog, one magazine, one documentation site. Stored as a site.standard.publication record in your Bluesky account. You can have many.

Document — One piece of writing — a title, optional summary and cover image, optional tags, and the body content. Stored as a site.standard.document record. Belongs to at most one Publication at a time.

Category — A named, ordered section within a Publication ("Essays", "Notes"). Every published Document sits in exactly one Category. Stored in the publication record; the SDK and the AT Protocol call it a Group.

Draft — A Document that isn't attached to any Publication. Only you can see it.

Published — A Document placed in a Category within a Publication. It has a public URL.

Contributor — A credit on a single Document — a byline or role (author, photographer, …), added by whoever owns the Document. No access implications.

Collaborator — A person invited to submit Documents to a Publication. It's a standing relationship with an invite / accept / reject lifecycle.

Identity

Handle — Your readable Bluesky username, e.g. alice.bsky.social. Can change.

DID — Your permanent Bluesky identifier, e.g. did:plc:abc123. Never changes, even if your handle does.

PDS (Personal Data Server) — The server that stores your Bluesky account's data, including all your SkyScribe content.

Hosted sites

SkyScribe Site — A website SkyScribe designs, hosts, and runs for you, served at your-name.skyscribe.site. Also called a Builder Site.

Design Config — The saved record of a site's appearance — the template, colours, fonts, and layout choices you made in the design wizard.

Subscription — The one paid product. Your account is either FREE or PRO. A PRO subscription holds one or more Site Slots.

PRO — The name of the paid state. PRO + is just PRO with two or more Site Slots — not a separate plan.

Site Slot — One unit of hosting capacity on a subscription: one live site (one Design Config + one Publication). A subscription starts with one Slot per site you subscribed for; + Add a site adds more.

Image Quota — Image Library storage, pooled across your whole subscription: 250 MB per Site Slot, plus a one-time 500 MB bonus once you reach two Slots.

Images

Image Library — The browsable collection of images you've uploaded, organised into folders. A PRO feature.

Variant — One of the fixed set of resized WebP copies made from each upload: 300, 600, 1200, 1800, and up to 3000 px on the longest edge. Sizes larger than the original are skipped.

Publication folder — An Image Library folder shared between a Publication's owner and its accepted Collaborators.
